We are your schools' PTA; a friendly group who organise fun and exciting events for the children, parents, teachers and friends of our schools. We are a registered charity and the money we raise makes a real difference to your children's school life.

We are delighted to announce that this has been yet another record-breaking year for the OPTA! It is amazing that in 2016/17 we have managed to break the £20,000 barrier and raise £21,945!

Our 3 main events in the year: Fireworks, the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fair, were the main fundraisers. Creating a theme for the Fireworks this year really helped raise funds as the children really engaged with the Star Wars theme. This meant that Fireworks raised a fantastic £5,278. The Christmas Fair generated an impressive £4,646, and finally we finished our main events with the Summer Fair & Circus which contributed £3,032 to the total.

This year we added a new event to the calendar which proved to be a huge success! Our Easter Sponsored Run raised much more than we hoped - £3,292! It was a great morning and the children really enjoyed the time together outside. The Bag 2 School collection has been a winner year on year and the collections this year – which have increased from 2 to 3 - raised over £1,300 towards the overall total.

The focus in 2016/17 has been on raising money to provide giant outdoor musical instruments for the Infant School and outdoor table tennis tables for the Junior School. Both of which have now been installed.

This year, we hope to raise even more – we are fundraising for new trim trails for both schools, new tablets for Infants, and football goals & kit for the Juniors. Please help us in any way you can, any amount of time (small or large) will make a massive difference to our schools.

As well as organising fun events for all the family, we also have some other ways of raising funds for the schools:

Matching Schemes

Please ask your employer whether they run a ‘matching scheme’ whereby they will donate an amount to match what we raise at an event as long as you (the employee) are involved in some way. For every pound we raise at an event, your employer may double it for us. We are extremely grateful for this support. So, please just ask!
